It is believed that language is an alive matter of fact that is formed by itself according to humans’ cultures, needs and comprehension in this regard language learning notedly requires continuum. Kırmızı Çizgi Schools give a high importance to foreign language education hence every year our foundation renovates its language education system in itself within the frame of language teaching methodology and international standards and also with considering the needs of its students. Our schools are conscious of the importance and impacts of the language and language skills which are vital from the commencing stage and also throughout the whole process of language learning. In our language philosophy our primary focus is not only our students language skills but also their personal and interpersonal skills development in order to obtain them how to express themselves, communicate with each other and others with different cultures and traditions in the target language.

The school believes that learning a second language provides significant cognitive adequacy and experience to comprehend the holistic approach and international mindedness.

LANGUAGE PROGRAMMES

Kırmızı Çizgi English Education System is valid for both in Middle school and High school with its philosophy and functioning. The language lessons are given by qualified teachers and standards are implemented on the international scale. We believe that student’s language achievement responsibility is primarily on the school and teachers and also depends on the stakeholders as well. Language teachers work for improving students’ four language skills accurately both in and out of the classroom thus they only communicate with them in English. The students are given fair opportunities to each of them hence the teachers become role models for students to develop themselves. As Kırmızı Cizgi schools’ English Departments we organize monthly activities for students. We run these activities with the students participations so that they can learn how to take responsibility and serve it with practising in the target language English. These activities are key activities which are comprised of students’ interests and abilities. According to our schools’ education principles and belief, a successful language learning is nested with the activities which are directly related to language skills such as particularly productive speaking skills, comprehension, fluency and listening.

ENGLISH IN WORLD STANDARDS

Accepted as the international language of communication in the world, English is an
supplemental part of the curriculum in primary and secondary schools in our country. English language education is the most important key that will open the door to a world of opportunities in the competitive
environment that our children will experience while applying for a university or job.

The most basic feature that distinguishes foreign language education from other branches is that it consists of four basic skills. That is to say, having known a foreign language fully can only come about by writing, reading, understanding and speaking well in the target language. Only with grammar education,
success can be achieved in certain exams. We cannot use it effectively in our business and social life. For this reason, the foreign language resources and education curriculum should be aimed at developing these four basic skills.

Another important question in foreign language education is how do we know how much we learned or at which level we are. This question can only be answered with
correct assessment exams. These exams are only possible by measuring all 4 basic skills in relevance with the structure of language education. Thus, international exams which are accepted all over the world should be applied. WE ARE PARTICIPATING INTERNATIONAL EXAMS

As Kırmızı Çizgi Educational Institutions, we prove the success of our students in foreign language ​with Cambridge English Language Assessment exams and certificates, that 5 million people all over the world enter every year and which are accepted by more than 12,500 institutions and universities in our country and around the world.

The exams are prepared according to the A1-A2 (Basic) B1-B2 (Intermediate) and C1-C2 (Advanced) language levels determined by the CEFR (Council of Europe Common Language
Framework). The exams are administered separately for 4 basic skills by native (English speaking) instructors sent by authorized exam centers, after the exams are delivered, they are sent to the exam center in England in sealed envelopes, and the results and certificates are sent to the school after 2 months. In this way, with the exams held at the end of each year, how successful the student is at the level which have taught at the school that year is objectively proven.

KIRMIZI ÇİZGİ ENGLISH SYSTEM AND ITS GENERAL CONTENT

In the beginning of the every academic year, classes are constituted after the result of Language Level Placement Exam. In the second mid-term, the students are replaced into their new class levels according to their exam results which are taken in Skills lesson in the first term of the academic year. Lessons are conducted with Oxford University Press books, materials and curriculum. This curriculum and its supported activities are designated as the target. The students who sit for an International Cambridge exam that is coordinated in every June are evaluated with their language skills and the targeted acquirements at the beginning of the year are assessed.
Lessons are consisted of 3 parts:

  • Main Course ; Curriculum is followed and grammar is taught both academically and with activities.
  • Skills Lessons: 4 Language skills are improved in this part of the lesson.
  • Presentation Lessons: Presentation Lessons cannot be apart from Kırmızı Çizgi Education System. As getting prepared to their presentation utilize them a lot, speaking out what they learnt during their presentation improves their self-confidence and speaking skills both in the target language and in front of the crowds.

5th GRADE (ENGLISH PREPARATORY CLASS)

  • As the preparatory class 5 th grade has incentive English lessons which are planned 20
    hours per week.
  • There are 3 levels adhesion to Cambridge English Language Assessment. These are
    respectively : Movers – Flyers – Key levels.

6th GRADE

  • In the 6 th Grade English lessons are planned as 17 hours per week.
  • There are 2 levels adhesion to Cambridge English Language Assessment. These are respectively : Key – Preliminary levels.

7th GRADE

  • In the 7 th Grade English lessons are planned as 12 hours per week.
  • There are 3 levels adhesion to Cambridge English Language Assessment. These are respectively : Key – Preliminary – FCE for Schools levels.
  • In our country only in Kırmızı Çizgi Schools there is a 7th grade class which has a FCE level education.

8th GRADE

  • In the 8 th grade English lessons are planned as 4 hours per week.
  • Lessons are only carried out with the public LGS exams and the curriculum is followed.
  • In addition to this, higher level of our 8 th graders are encouraged with 4 hours extra English lessons in order to maintain their language skills.

KIRMIZI ÇİZGİ HIGH SCHOOL GRADES AND LANGUAGE LEVELS

9th GRADE

  • In the 9 th Grade English lessons are planned as 12 hours per week.
  • There are 3 levels adhesion to Cambridge English Language Assessment. These are respectively : Key – Preliminary – FCE levels.

10th GRADE

  • In the 10 th Grade English lessons are planned as 10 hours per week.
  • There are 3 levels adhesion to Cambridge English Language Assessment. These are respectively : Key – Preliminary – FCE levels.

11th GRADE

  • In the 11 th Grade English lessons are planned as 3 hours per week.
  • There are 3 levels adhesion to Cambridge English Language Assessment. These are respectively : Key – Preliminary – FCE levels.
  • The lessons are carried out with our students in order to improve their productive language skills instead of incentive grammar lessons.

12th GRADE

  • There are no English lessons due to the intensive preparation for university public exam in this grade.
